An Incredible Sikh Wedding at Nanaksar Gurdwara & Alrewas Hayes
If you’ve ever dreamed of a Sikh wedding at a rural Staffordshire wedding venue, let me tell you: N & I’s day was everything and more. Sacred tradition, countryside charm, and full-throttle celebration — all starting at NanakSar Gurdwara before moving on to the stunning Alrewas Hayes.
The Ceremony at NanakSar Gurdwara
The morning began at NanakSar Gurdwara, where N & I held their Anand Karaj. The Gurdwara was alive with warmth and devotion as family and friends gathered in their colourful finery. N looked breathtaking in her bridal outfit, while I made a grand entrance in his sehra, welcomed by music, smiles, and so much excitement.
Inside, the sacred kirtan echoed beautifully, and as N & I circled the Guru Granth Sahib during the Laavan, you could feel the emotion ripple through the sangat: joy, pride, and more than a few happy tears. It was everything a Sikh wedding should be — spiritual, powerful, and full of love.
Portraits & Reception at Alrewas Hayes
After the ceremony, the celebrations continued at Alrewas Hayes, a Grade II listed luxury country manor house tucked away in rural Staffordshire. We whisked N & I into the grounds for portraits — and honestly, this venue is a photographer’s dream. From the courtyard and lakeside to the sweeping lawns and historic façade, it felt like every corner was made for wedding photography.
The reception was held in the Lakeside marquee — think chandeliers, draped ceilings, and a dancefloor ready to bounce. Punjabi dhol beats filled the air, plates of food never seemed to stop arriving, and the dancefloor quickly turned into the kind of party you never want to leave.
