There’s something magical about a country house wedding — and Danesfield House in Buckinghamshire is one of those places that just feels like it was made for love stories. When Alex & Mark asked me to capture their wedding there, I knew we were in for something special.
The day began with warm, relaxed energy. Alex was surrounded by her best friends, laughter, and that beautifully chaotic getting-ready buzz. Mark was patient (but clearly excited) as he waited for those first glimpses of his bride. Danesfield’s interiors — high ceilings, rich wood, timeless details — gave us plenty of quiet, elegant backdrops for those first moments of the day.
Their ceremony was held in one of the licensed suites — the kind of room where history and romance live side by side. Surrounded by their loved ones, Alex & Mark said their vows, creating a memory that matched the stately grandeur of the house.
Afterward, we stepped into Danesfield’s 65 acres of manicured gardens. The views stretch across the Thames Valley and Chiltern Hills, and every path, fountain, and archway feels like a ready-made photo backdrop. The couple laughed, hugged, and wandered together, and it was those natural, in-between moments that became some of my favourite frames of the day.
The evening celebrations brought everyone back inside, into one of the venue’s grand function suites. The atmosphere was filled with warmth, speeches, and laughter. And Alex’s stunning look, along with the family moments and the joy in the room, even caught the attention of You & Your Wedding Magazine, where their day was later featured — a lovely touch for such a gorgeous celebration.
