Essex Wedding Photography at Anser Gallows Farm, Hempstead
Planning the perfect barn wedding in Essex? Nat and Josh pulled it off beautifully at Anser Gallows Farm – a celebration filled with laughter, personal touches, and plenty of character.
The way we first met them is one of my favourite stories. We were already friends with the father of the bride, but hadn’t yet met Nat and Josh. That changed one hot summer afternoon in Cambridge, when we went on what I can only describe as a blind date. Sitting by the river with a few chilled glasses of Pimm’s, we chatted away like old friends. The moment we all spotted Stephen Hawking out on a walk, we knew this was the start of something special.
Wedding Ceremony at All Saints Wimbish Parish Church, Saffron Walden
Nat’s morning began at her parents’ home in Saffron Walden, surrounded by her wonderful bridesmaids. The atmosphere was full of excitement and support, with plenty of smiles (and maybe a few happy nerves).
Her wedding dress couldn’t have been more personal – it was lovingly handmade by her mother, making it truly one of a kind. To complete the look, Nat chose a gorgeous pair of blue shoes, a perfect “something blue” with a stylish twist.
Meanwhile, Josh and his groomsmen made their traditional stop at the local pub before heading to the church. He even showed off his bartending skills – not a bad way to calm pre-ceremony nerves!
The ceremony itself at All Saints Wimbish was full of emotion: happy tears, laughter, and that wonderful sense of community that makes village church weddings so memorable.
Reception at Anser Gallows Farm, Hempstead
Barn weddings are special because they give couples a blank canvas to bring their vision to life, and Nat and Josh did just that. From the carefully chosen colour theme to the baby blue cupcakes and fairy lights, every detail reflected their personalities.
The reception was relaxed, joyful, and full of fun moments. Their friends were absolute stars, happily joining in for informal photos, and Josh with his groomsmen set a new standard for creative photobombing!
It was one of those weddings where you could truly feel the love not only between the couple but from everyone around them. Nat and Josh, thank you for trusting me with your photography and videography, and for becoming such good friends along the way.
