Where classic elegance met pure joy (and maybe a little mischief).
When Harriet & James asked me to photograph their wedding at Lanwades Hall, I knew we were in for something special. Lanwades Hall, an elegant Edwardian manor set in beautiful Suffolk gardens, offers that rare mix of historic character and warm, personal energy. It’s the kind of place that feels grand and cozy all at once.
The day started with quiet excitement. Harriet was surrounded by her nearest, laughing over memories and getting ready in a light-drenched room. James, meanwhile, was pacing with anticipation — that kind of energy you can almost see in photos.
By the time we stepped into the gardens for their portraits, the grounds at Lanwades truly earned their reputation. The sunken garden, sweeping lawns, and secret corners gave us so many beautiful backdrops. We wandered down driveways, paused by flower beds, and I kept sneaking frames of them just being themselves — offhand smiles, whispered jokes, moments you don’t plan but always shine in the final gallery.
The ceremony in the Great Hall felt perfect — warm wood panelling, generous windows, and an atmosphere that made every word feel weighty. Guests leaned in, voices hushed, and I captured those little emotional flickers: proud parents, happy tears, and the look Harriet gave James as she walked in.
Then came the reception — a mix of heartfelt speeches, laughter, music, and the dance floor that filled up fast. Because when you bring people you love into a place like Lanwades, the magic is inevitable.
