Family, friends, and a backyard celebration full of heart
Some weddings are about grand ballrooms, others are about keeping things simple, relaxed, and full of love. Chloe & Henry’s wedding was the latter — and it suited them perfectly.
They first found me while searching for a local Hertfordshire wedding photographer, and I couldn’t have been happier that they did. Living just one town over in Letchworth, they wanted someone who knew the area well and could capture their day in a natural, documentary way. From the very beginning, Chloe said she loved my style — and I loved how her vision for the day was all about family, fun, and authenticity.
The civil ceremony was held at Stevenage Registry Office, with just their closest family and friends. With their two young kids by their side, it was emotional, intimate, and exactly what they wanted. Afterwards, we headed back to Letchworth, where their parents’ home had been transformed into the chicest boho setting — think fairy lights, rustic touches, and a relaxed garden vibe.
The humanist ceremony was made even more special by being led by one of their close friends. It felt less like a formality and more like a personal story shared with everyone present. And the reception? Held at their own home, it was as laid-back as you’d expect — and incredible food served by Nick & Caroline Catering, who kept everyone happy (and very well fed) throughout the evening, laughter, kids running around, and moments that felt more like a big family BBQ than a formal wedding.
Why Hertfordshire is Perfect for Relaxed Weddings
Hertfordshire is full of hidden gems for couples who want a wedding that feels personal. From Stevenage Registry Office for small, intimate ceremonies to the charming gardens and homes in Letchworth, it’s an area that offers flexibility and character in equal measure. For couples searching for a wedding photographer in Hertfordshire, it’s also an incredible backdrop for natural, storytelling photography.
Thank you, Chloe & Henry, for letting me capture your beautiful day. It was proof that weddings don’t have to be huge to be meaningful — sometimes the best memories are made right in your own back garden.
