Sky-high vows with a side of laughter
This wedding came to me in the best way: my wife mentioned that her old colleague Lucy was tying the knot with Ollie — at The Shard. You don’t say no to that.
Ceremony Above the Skyline
Imagine saying “I do” with the Thames, Tower Bridge, and half of London stretched out behind you. That was Lucy & Ollie’s humanist ceremony — heartfelt, funny, and completely them.
Lucy’s parents stood to speak in Mandarin, and even though most of us didn’t follow every word, the emotion translated perfectly. Ollie’s grin didn’t leave his face the whole time (and maybe never will).
Portraits with London at Their Feet (Shard wedding photography at its best)
Afterwards, we snuck off for portraits. Shooting at The Shard means every angle is dramatic — floor-to-ceiling glass, light bouncing everywhere, the city buzzing beneath. One of my favourites? The two of them silhouetted against the skyline, looking like they owned the whole of London.
Reception in the Clouds
The reception kept that same mix of elegance and mischief. Speeches had the room laughing, the food never stopped coming, and the dancing? Let’s just say Ollie attempted a few moves to a Chinese pop track he definitely didn’t know… and the crowd went wild.
