A grand London celebration full of colour, joy, and music
Some weddings you remember for the details — others you remember for the energy. Gladys & Lorenzo’s Congolese wedding at The Decorium in Wood Green, London? Definitely the latter.
We kicked off the day at the Sunborn Yacht Hotel in Greenwich (yes, a hotel on a yacht — already a strong start). The morning was a mix of nerves, laughter, and that quiet anticipation that builds before a big day. Gladys looked radiant and totally in control. Lorenzo… well, let’s just say he was running on Congolese wedding time 😄. He arrived fashionably (very fashionably!) late, while Gladys was bang on schedule — and, honestly, it just made for even better stories.
The ceremony at The Decorium was emotional and elegant, but the reception is where this wedding truly came alive. Congolese weddings have a way of turning any room into pure celebration, and this one was no exception. The music, the dancing, the outfits — it was like photographing a living kaleidoscope. Guests didn’t just dance; they owned the dance floor, from the very first beat until long into the night.
One of my favourite parts of the evening was seeing just how much joy Gladys & Lorenzo’s families brought into the celebration. The pride, the laughter, the endless hugs — these are the moments that make wedding photography such a privilege.
Why The Decorium Is a Perfect Match for African Weddings

A neutral yet elegant backdrop that lets vibrant outfits and decorations shine
Designed for music, dancing, and big entrances (and trust me, this wedding had all three)
Great location in North London with parking and accessibility for big celebrations
Gladys & Lorenzo — thank you for letting me capture your day. From the yacht in Greenwich to the unforgettable party at The Decorium, your wedding was as full of colour and energy as your love for each other. And Lorenzo, next time — set two alarms 😉.
