Traditional African Wedding Photography – West London


I had the pleasure of photographing Sarah and AK’s traditional African wedding, a vibrant and joyful celebration combining Nigerian and Congolese traditions, at Sarah’s parents’ home in West London. The sun was shining, the guests were all happy and excited, and AK was quickly surrounded by enthusiastic friends and family while Sarah and her friends were getting ready.


I was immediately drawn into the good mood and laughter around me — it felt like attending a wedding of old friends. As a big food enthusiast, I couldn’t resist tasting some of the delicious home-cooked dishes, and I’m very happy I did!


The only challenge of the day was navigating the bustling home to capture a few quiet moments of Sarah getting ready with her friends. It’s always amazing to see how so many ladies can peacefully share the space while preparing for a big celebration.


The wedding was filled with rich cultural traditions, vibrant colours, and joyful moments, providing countless opportunities for candid photography. Every detail told a story — from the excited chatter during preparations to the ceremonial rituals and family interactions.


It was a high-energy, emotional, and beautiful day, full of laughter, love, and meaningful moments that I was thrilled to capture.
