A whirlwind of colour, chaos, love — and dancing like tomorrow doesn’t exist
When I first photographed Meera & Krishn’s pre-wedding at North Mymms Park, I knew their main day would be something special. What I didn’t know was just how much laughter, energy, and heart would explode when the big day finally arrived. By the end, it felt less like I was working and more like I was celebrating alongside close friends.
Morning Rituals & Hindu Ceremony
The day began in pure, joyful chaos. Family filling the rooms, laughter bouncing down the corridors, bright fabrics catching the morning light. At North Mymms, every corner seemed alive.
Their Hindu ceremony was a masterpiece of tradition and emotion: the sacred fire burning, petals flying, music swelling, and that constant buzz of family joy. One of my favourite moments was just before the pheras — Meera’s hands shaking ever so slightly, steadied instantly by Krishn’s calm smile. Those small details are what stay with me.
Portraits Between the Madness
In the middle of everything, we stole some time for portraits. The gardens and the Elizabethan façade gave us the perfect backdrop, but what mattered most was them. They laughed, teased each other, and at one point Krishn spun Meera around so suddenly she almost lost her balance — which of course made the best photo.
Reception & Party
If the morning was chaos, the evening was pure electricity. Speeches that made everyone laugh and cry in equal measure, food that nobody wanted to end, and then… the dancing. The floor filled instantly, and it stayed that way all night. Parents, cousins, friends — everyone was in. It was the kind of reception where you forget about time.
North Mymms Park at Its Best
What I love about North Mymms Park in Hertfordshire is how it holds both the tradition of a Hindu ceremony and the full-blast energy of a modern reception. Grand yet welcoming, with endless gardens and rooms that shift with the mood — it’s a venue built for celebrations like this.
